I was born in Orange County, California on Sunday, April 21st, 1996. I was the first son of my mother and father, succeeding my three older sisters. In the next years, my parents had two more children, moved across the country to Virginia. Six children. 4 Daughters. 2 Sons. Growing up was always fun because there was always interesting things going on whether it was playing hide and go seek in the house during a power outage , or the result of playing hide and go seek in the house during a power outage. Family has always been important to me, I try to stay as close to them as possible. In school, I always was that one quiet kid in class that was never really outspoken. I did not become outspoken until sophomore year. It is the time when I really began to become more involved in extracurricular activities such as student council, various clubs, and orchestra. During this time, Orchestra acted as my safe haven. It is the place where I made friends, really learned how to focus, build my leadership skills, and it gave me a great deal of confidence. In fact, it was a friend within one of the orchestra groups that I was involved with that told me about Morehouse.
Now that I am here at Morehouse, there is a few things I want to do. I would like to academically excel. Although I was never the top student in my class, I did well. In these next four years, I want to do better than I ever have. I've only made straight A's once (in the first grade) and now I want to not only do it again, but keep it consistent. I want to study abroad or travel and experience a new culture. During my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to take Arabic. I really liked it. I would like to travel to an Arab nation, specifically Dubai. Dubai is tourist friendly, it is filled with rich culture, and great nightlife. There is so much I could learn. Lastly, I just want to embrace the brotherhood. Coming from a family where it is predominantly female, it would cool to learn and indulge in what it means to a "brother".
Once I leave Morehouse, I would like to live out my dreams of becoming a impactful, driven Educator.
